Cradle Mountain Lodge
is a unique wilderness experience set right on the edge of the spectacular
World Heritage Listed Cradle Mountain/Lake St. Clair National Park
in Tasmania, just 2 hours drive from Launceston and 1.25 hours from
Devonport. A superb escape, showcasing the best Tasmania has to offer
with warm hospitality, sensational locally produced food and wine,
breathtaking scenery and the magnificent wilderness experience that
surrounds the Lodge. The Lodge itself is warm and inviting with open
fires, comfy chairs and many great spots for sitting and enjoying
the views or just relaxing.
Around Cradle Mountain Lodge there are more than 20 walking trails
that suit every fitness level. Imagine wandering through towering
forests with trees older than mankind, discover animal and plant varieties
found nowhere else on earth. You can trek mountains, take to trails
on horseback or mountain bike and learn to fly-fish - just some of
the many activities on offer. When it's time to relax, guests can
indulge in a therapeutic massage or sauna.
Set discreetly within this wilderness
setting, The Lodge has 96 private timber cabins, offering 3 grades
of accommodation. Each has a cosy log fire and provides every comfort
you could need, some with Spa Baths.
Cradle Mountain Lodge's tariff
includes a hearty mountain buffet breakfast and many Lodge activities.
Accommodation
All 96 cabins feature a log fire,
electric heater, tea & coffee making facilities, alarm clock,
private bathroom with toilet, shower & amenities, desk and chair
and hairdryers. To help guests leave the outside world behind, televisions
and telephones, whilst available in the lodge, are not available in
guest rooms.
King Billy Spa Suites:
From September 2003, Cradle Mountain Lodge will launch two new premium
suites - King Billy Spa Suites. These suites will offer guests secluded
and comfortable accommodation with expansive living areas including
a large outdoor private deck with hot-tub. The interior, based on
a contemporary design scheme will highlight premium appointments,
will have separate sleeping and living areas. Suites will feature
recucled local timbers and hand-crafted furniture. A King Size bed
and oversized bathroom with two person spa are a few of the many comforts
guests will enjoy.
Spa Suites: For
those looking to enjoy extra indulgences Cradle Mountain Lodge’s
Spa Suites are the natural choice. Guests are treated to complimentary
fire-side port and each evening a different selection of gourmet surprises
arrives to delight your senses – a selection of canapés,
perhaps chocolate fondue or a cheese & fruit platter. Cabins are
styled with hand-made Tasmanian wood furnishings and feature king-sized
beds piled with feather pillows and soft goose-down duvets. Of course
a log fire and a deep spa are part of the attraction. Spa Suites also
offer a range of additional in-room comforts, a mini-bar and complimentary
gourmet coffee and tea station with signature Cradle Mountain Cookies
are amongst some of the extra treats included in this style of cabin.
Enjoy music from your in-room CD or the silence of the bush. Each
Spa Suite has a large private verandah with outdoor furniture and
with views directed towards the surrounding wilderness, wildlife spotting
in comfort is all a part of Cradle’s natural charm.
Spa Cabins: Spa
Cabins are located in natural bush setting and are private and peaceful.
Verandahs offer views through the treetops or directly into the surrounding
Myrtle forest. Inside, Spa Cabins are comfortable and well appointed.
Large sofa chairs sit before a log fire and a spacious bathroom, which
includes spa bath and separate shower, are some of the features. Spa
Cabins also offer additional amenities including in-room CD Player
and coffee and tea making facilities with a range of quality teas,
plunger coffee and hot chocolate. Spa Cabins are also available in
a Family Cabin style with two separate bedrooms.
Pencil Pine Cabins:
With close proximity to the Lodge, Pencil Pine Cabins offer commanding
Lodge Lake and bushland views. Available in both regular and Family
Cabin, Pencil Pine Cabins are simple in style but comfortable with
queen sized bed and Tasmanian wood furnishings.

The Highland Restaurant is recognised as one of Tasmania's premier
dining experiences, featuring the very best of Tasmanian foods and
wines (with a walk-in cellar). The mountain buffet is included in
the accommodation tariff and the restaurant is also open for dinner.
Special diets and picnic hamper
service are available by arrangement.
The Tavern Bar & Bistro has
a rustic tavern atmosphere with a roaring log fire. Bistro style meals
are served for lunch and dinner.
The Weindorfer Lounge is more like
a private club lounge, with deep leather armchairs and a crackling
fire.
The Guest Lounge Bar is a private,
guest's retreat for pre-dinner drinks or a late night port.
